Dr. Jo Reed was born and raised in White Hall, Arkansas. She attended Xavier University in New Orleans for her undergraduate education. While at Xavier, Dr. Reed researched at Cornell and Yale medical schools. Dr. Reed decided at an early age to pursue a career in medicine and wanted to stay close to her roots, so she attended medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. After completing a dual residency in internal medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Reed worked in primary care for a year. She decided to further her studies by receiving her allergy and immunology training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She enjoys all aspects of allergy and immunology, with special interests in food allergy and asthma. Dr. Reed has spoken at local and regional meetings and local television stations on topics relating to allergy and immunology. Her hobbies include reading, writing, spinning, yoga and spending time with family and friends.
