Dr. Matias Nauts has been serving patients of Southwest Louisiana since 2015. He graduated from California State University at Fullerton and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his surgical internship and residency at Rowan School of Medicine in New Jersey. His expertise includes gallbladder surgery, hernia repairs, hemorrhoid procedures, colon surgery, breast biopsy, breast surgery, cyst excisions, minimally invasive surgery, and robotic surgery. Dr. Nauts is passionate about robotic surgery and even trains other surgeons on robotic devices. Instead of making large incisions as in traditional surgery, the robot only requires a series of small incisions. This means less blood loss and less scarring. Also, because of the minimally invasive nature of the procedure, patients recover very quickly and can usually renew normal activity within a week. Dr. Nauts is available five days a week and accepts walk-ins. He is fluent in English & Spanish
